History

Germantown  Little League was established in 1973. Fireman’s park was the first little league field. Two additional fields, Kennedy and Friestadt were also used. The Juniors played at the current JV field located at Germantown High School.

The little league complex, located at the corner of Division and Freistadt Roads, consisted of a Juniors field followed by the Majors field and a few years later the T-ball field. The boys’ program included T-ball, AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors. In 1988, a concessions building was constructed that also housed a board room, equipment storage room and garage.

A few years later, Germantown Little League (in partnership with the Germantown School System) built two fields at Kennedy Middle School-Kennedy North & Kennedy South. These fields included a sprinkler system for the outfields and lights for night games. Currently, Germantown Little League and the Germantown Recreation Department utilize 9 fields throughout the Germantown area. This includes the original three fields at the Little League Complex.

Germantown Little League has excelled in tournament play. Since 1973, Germantown Little League has won many District 1 titles, and has also won a number of State Championships. Germantown Little League participation has grown tremendously. The league includes more than 650 kids comprising over 50 teams in both Baseball and Girls' Softball. With outstanding facilities, increasing participation, and a dedicated volunteer staff, the future is very bright for our organization.
